Assuring Grace

Reflecting over a year of intense missions across Africa, America and Europe humbled my finite mind. I recall looking down at the Alps of Europe from the windows of the aeroplane. In winter they are covered in snow, in summer the clouds reveal the lakes on top of the mountains like a basin. What a wonderfulGod we serve.

Flying through the Sahara Desert and the aeroplane flew slightly higher due tothe heat. We watched the wonders of nature through the screen, the seemingly never-ending stretch of sand. Our Heavenly Father is awesome.

In Liberia, we stayed in a hotel by the bank of the Atlantic Ocean and could not sleep the first night of our stay. The sound of the roaring ocean was as if ten air cargos were descending at the same time. Standing by the bank to watch the waves splashing out but not exceeding the bounds is amazing.

Driving from New York to Connecticut and watching the groves and swamps bordering the oceans is another wonder.

The waters of the Mediterranean in Italy brought the books of Isaiah 40:12 to clarity. Who has measured the waters in His hands, and meted out heaven with a span, and comprehends the dust of the earth in a measure and weighs the mountains in a scale and the hills in a balance? With whom will you liken our God?

Lift up your eyes and see who created all these and calls them by name. All things were created by Him and without Him was nothing made.

Watching NASA videos of the universe showing our earth as a pale blue dot among many galaxies is spellbinding; the stars being shown are innumerable. As their camera zooms in on the planet that is the earth, it grows bigger and bigger in size until it is eventually recognisable as our earth.

You can now understand when he told Moses to tell Pharaoh that ‘I AM’ has sent you. When in Isaiah he said, ‘I am The Lord, there is none like me’. In Jeremiah, He said &lquote; He has made the heavens and earth by His great power and nothing is too hard for Him. He has power over life and death, over principalities and powers&rquote;.

He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Almighty, the Kings of Kings, the High and Lifted One, the Prince of Peace, the Comforter, the Everlasting Father. Of the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end. What a mighty God we serve; He reigns for ever. His love is so great and incomprehensible. He is beautiful for every situation. The merciful father, our sacrificial Lamb: Yeshua Hamashiach. No wonder the disciples and early Christians lived the way they did, owning nothing and happy to put their lives in line. They looked for a better city whose builder and maker is God.

To Him be glory, honour, and praise, for ever and ever Amen.
