Dried egg white on a tabletop

Anyone friendly with the kitchen will know what I am coming up to, especially when one of the kids is in a hurry and cleans the kitchen for you. Everything looks so sparkling, but you can smell something unpleasant. It is worse when the kitchen cloth is horridly washed in the sink. As a mother of five, I often get this when cakes are baked, eggs are fried, and some people decide to clean their way. You can smell it once you get in and cannot stand it. I know what is stinking from experience. The egg white on the tabletop was not properly cleaned, though you can’t see it.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Matthew 23:28 (KJV)

This can be likened to individuals who look so good on the outside that you can’t fault them. They do and say nice things, yet something is not adding up. You wonder why they do what they do, but you can't get the answer.

How could somebody with such good attributes have a strange character? They are best related from afar. If you come closer, you will smell what you do not like. Those characters put people off, yet they need what these people have. You still need to get into the kitchen to cook and pick up fruits, tea, and biscuits, but you can’t stand it and don’t know what to clean.

The egg white on the table is not properly cleaned.

Anything in our lives that puts off people who are attracted to us is an egg white. We are born again, and certain bad attitudes and characters still loom over us. We have not taken care of them. On the outside, everything is okay, but why mix bad behaviour with good attributes?

Besetting and secret sin are usually the causes of these. They are not sins we scream at, but they prevent relationships, the church, workplaces, and communities from staying together. These may be hidden pride. Well, it doesn’t matter how you play humility; pride stinks and will put off anyone.

Laziness is another egg white. It can delay destinies and stop progression.

Deceit is another ugly egg white. Everything looks okay until you find out you have been deceived.

A talebearer is so friendly, and people want to relax with them, but something will ooze out five minutes into the stay.

Antagonism is another. These people are lovable, and conversations can continue as long as nothing upsets them. If anything dares, you get the shock of your life.

Stealing is another, and there is nothing on the physical to show it. You will wonder why anyone in a good car and properties nick things. There is no way you will suspect them. Some egg whites include lies, greed, avarice, vengefulness, exaggeration, malice, and many more. Putting up with it means the spiritual sensitivity is gone.

How do we clean them up? I usually throw everything washed in the drying basket back into the sink. Add some drops of bleach to soapy water and wash all over again. Then clean the tabletop inch by inch thoroughly, as you cannot see the dried egg white. Once done, you see the same children who couldn’t clean thoroughly coming in to say, “Oh, the smell has gone. What did you do, Mummy? I couldn’t come in earlier because of the smell”. Well, the baker didn’t clean well after her expedition.

The blood of Jesus is stronger than any bleach to clean us from all unrighteousness. If we sincerely call on God, he will have mercy and do a deep clean in our lives.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

The word of God is another that does a clinical job.

The entrance of thy words giveth light; It giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:130 (KJV)

Allowing others to point out the uncleaned egg white in our lives.

The only hindrance will be if the person has lost sense of smell and cannot smell. In that case, they can live with it, which makes no difference.

O LORD , I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV)
