Assuring Grace

Fog is a natural phenomenon that is out of anyone’s control. When it’s light, you can see through it, but when it is thick and heavy, you see nothing. It can be enjoyed when you are indoors but could be frustrating when you have to travel. It can stop airplanes from taking off and landing. Due to its inherent risk, it could prevent motorists and virtually most movement. One good thing is that it does go away and is not permanent.

Life can be foggy at times. Things halt to a standstill with no movement. You cannot see the future, though you know something is promising in it. You try several ways to keep going, but a red alert is everywhere. It can be frustrating. Many throw in the towel at this point. Some will complain and grumble. It is not the end of the day.

We went to the Rock of Cashel in Ireland. We could only see the tree branches, which looked beautiful in the fog. At least there is something good in the fog. Two reactions happened while we were looking. As visitors, we could not get past our visibility as we did not know what was in the mist. A lady who was a local resident walked past us and jogged on into the fog. She knew the area and was confident that there was no harm. God knows all our environment and can see that what we are afraid of is nothing.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee. Psalm 143:8 (KJV)

Shortly before we left, the mist moved, and a stunning landscape with tended gardens appeared. People were even walking through the park. We only saw what we could see, but life was certainly behind the fog. There is life in the fog. The foggy weather is temporary. Please do not allow it to stop you. You may have to wait for it to clear, but please wait.

Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:14 (KJV).

There may be a danger if you carry on travelling through it, as visibility is poor. Be patient and cautious. It will clear away. You might be going through some foggy situations now. God will make a way. He is a present help in time of need.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)

He created all things, including the unclear situation. Clearing out the fogs of life is too small for the Lord, but we have to trust Him to do it. We have to ask and commit everything into God’s hands. You will not be disappointed. Allow Him; He knows the way through the wilderness, and He will direct your path.
