Assuring Grace

Why would anyone reject prayer? Prayer is central to our Christian faith and makes things happen. The power of prayer can be seen throughout the Scriptures.

So, why the “No thanks”? Well, now’s the time for action, to put it plainly. Time to get on with it and do the doing. Let’s see:

A brother is hungry, and you have food in your pot, money in your pocket, and your kitchen cabinets and fridge are well-stocked. Why pray for him? Come on, please! Give him food to eat and pray not. Closing your eyes for those prayers is closing your eyes to his needs. James 3:15-16.

If you want to inherit the earth, open your door to meekness. Matthew 5:5

You want to see God? Clean up the heart and keep it pure. Matthew 5:8

If you want good success, meditate on the word of God, day and night. Joshua 1:8

Be diligent in all you do; you will stand before Kings and not mean men. Proverbs 22:29

You need provision for life? Take your Isaac to the slaughter. Genesis 22

Seek God first and His righteousness, and you will have all good things to yourself. Matthew 6:33

Run into the Lord for shelter and protection when the shelling is intense. He is a Strong Tower. Proverbs 18:10

Do you need perfect peace? Just stay your heart on our Everlasting God. Isaiah 26:3

To immortalise your name, break your Alabaster Box of sweet fragrance. Mark 14:3-9

Host Jesus in your home, and your brother sick unto death would be raised. John 11

Don’t solicit for friends, just show yourself friendly. Proverbs 18:24

Who wants good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over? I want some too. Then Give! Luke 6:38

These and many more require action. Faith without works is dead. James 2:20. If you need a job, apply for it; if you need a harvest, sow.

It may sound a bit harsh, but honestly, if you really want to die, keep sinning as it is the shortest route to hell. Ezekiel 18:20. But why would you die?

Now we can pray and ask God to forgive us our sins and accept our Lord Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and we shall be saved. Romans 10:9-13.

Obviously, no need to pray when the solution to the prayer lie in your hands. Greed and fear of the unknown hinders both spiritual and physical blessings. Thank you Pastor Grace.
