Pick Up Your Sword!

The Word of God is our Sword. With it, we can both defend and attack. What is written in the Bible becomes‌ the Rhema living word of God and a weapon in our hands. Get to know it not just to quote it but also to use it. Soldiers have training in how to use their weapons, so make sure you learn about the spiritual battle so you are an effective warrior the enemy will fear. Many are half-dressed. Armour protects, but a real sword kills.

Do you believe as a Christian, you have authority? Do you think the authority given in Christ is for better Christians than you? Have you accepted the power you have in Christ and are you willing to get your spiritual armour on and use it for His Glory? Are you in the fight or a bystander? Are you a washed-out wimpy Christian?

In these last days, we need "Blood and Guts Christianity." To be a Christian is not to be a wimp. It is to be a first-class soldier in the Army of the Lord. The trouble with many Christians is that they cannot believe the power of the sword in their hands. They go around all washed out and wimpy. They like the protection of the armour but cannot be bothered to pick up their sword. They can quote the scriptures, but live on hope, not faith, because they do not believe the power of the Word and how it is a sharp, two-edged sword that can kill. Nor do they understand the nature of the spiritual battle. They think they can fight with earthly solutions and the lack of faith in their lives that can never please God. Hebrews 11:6

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV)

Ephesians 6:17

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (KJV)
