Two reflections on King Solomon’s fall from grace(1 King 11)

Many kings worldwide went to see Solomon’s greatness during his time. He was endowed with so much wisdom, wealth and prominence.
Firstly, he loved strange women from the Nations God told them not to mingle with. It landed the wise man with 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines. How could one man have carried all these? If we sit to count daily the innumerable that have taken us away from God, Solomon will be more righteous. Let’s reflect!
Secondly, one revelation I got from 1 Kings 11:1-8 is that Solomon built a mighty house for the Lord as never seen on earth. He sourced the best of woods and gold. He was a man who did things to perfection and finished them. As a man of finesse, he would not have built the high places for the gods of his ladies with anything less. Let’s reflect!
God was angry because he used God’s wisdom for idols. We should learn from this. When anyone blessed by God falls away, he will use the grace God gave him to serve other gods. No wonder people do terrible things when they fall from the faith. They do wrong with the same strength they did right. Recovering them is usually tricky.
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Ezekiel 18:24 (KJV)
