Who is the Greatest?

Mark 9:33-35/KJV And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
Who should be the greatest? The disciples knew they had crossed the line, they moved from walking in the spirit to being in the flesh, which could be discerned when Yeshua Jesus asked them, “what was the dispute amongst them,” they remained quiet. They keep their peace. It’s actually one of those passive sin’s we all must be careful of, PRIDE!
This Kingdom walk requires constant observation by all of us of what lies deep in our soul realm: our mind, will, and emotions. The seat where deceit is easily planted, where pride flourish and sin can run rampant unless kept under subjection.
If the disciples, who walked with Yeshua, taught by Him, and observed what He made priority struggled with this issue, how much more shall we take heed, learn from their misstep. To be honest, we all can be seduced by the spirit of pride, if we are not careful.
Yeshua, knowing such discussion could be a hinderance to the work of the Kingdom and the disciple’s specific assignments, addressed the issue right away:
Let’s all consider the cost of that which we desire! Are our desires of the spirit or of the flesh? Rewards of the flesh differs significantly from rewards of the spirit. In the Kingdom, we are called to be of service and to serve.
The Kingdom is not about how much we can get but how much we have given!
Wouldn’t it be grand to hear a dispute about the rewards we will receive for being the humblest? I wonder how many would take part in that dispute.
