Assuring Grace

Scriptures with promises are the most read and claimed. While it works for some people, it does not work for others. The question is why? The simple answer is that most overlook the conditions attached to them. Some common examples of these scriptures are:

Philippians 4:19 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There is always a resounding Amen! When someone is told this scripture. The truth is that it will not work for a tight-fisted person. The Thessalonians gave again and again to Paul, even when others were not giving. In gratitude for their generosity, this promise came forth.

Philippians 4:15-18 KJV “Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

Everything we ask shall only be done to us if we abide in Him. John 15:7 KJV If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

You cannot move mountain without faith Matthew 17:20 KJV And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

We all want The Lord to forgive us, but we have to forgive others first. Matthew 6:14 KJV For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Finding God depends on how sincere our hearts are. Jeremiah 29:13 KJV And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

A good one at wedding blessings is Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Powerful blessings and promises, but please do not overlook verse 15 to the end.

May God help us to be true and take His whole counsel without cherry picking them.
